Mo-Honk!!

My little man asked if he could have a "mo-honk," and his dad said, "yes."

I asked him to show me his tough face!

Do you remember doing this?

My girl had a friend over to play and they asked if they could sleep in the living room. I woke up to this. It cracked me up because I remember doing this with my friends too. Who knows what time they went to bed. I am sure they were up until late giggling and eating chips. If you look close you will see the evidence.

Does this give you chills or what!?!

We recently went to the big D to find a place to live and we came upon this building. My stomach just dropped as I read what the sign said. I thought about the people inside and how many of them were probably raised as a child to believe that they have the one way into heaven. I used to think that Islamic meant you were toting a bomb and were more than likely a very destructive person. However, since going to Africa where they are 99.9% Muslim I learned different. The people that we serve there are actually a very peaceful and calm caring people. It is hard to understand that such a calm peaceful and caring person could not get into heaven, but the Bible clearly states that the only way is through Jesus Christ. It says that we have all sinned and fall short of God's glory. It says that when we sin we earn death, but God has given us a gift and that is eternal life through Jesus. If you do not believe this please email me and lets talk a little more. There is one true God our father, Jesus His son, and Holy Spirit and He loves you more than you will ever understand!

The many faces of Africa!

Paris in November #2

Paris in November

Some sweet friends of ours invited us to join them for a trip to the Museum of Natural Science to see dinosaurs and much more. I brought mine and my nephew along and we had a great time.

This is my boy telling us the weather forecast. There was a prompter facing him to tell him what to say. It was so cool. I think I see a job in his future!

This is one wild group of boys. It was a loud ride to and from Houston, but well worth it! Between one calling me "Uncle Felecia" and other funny comments and songs that were sung, my friend and I stayed laughing. I am so glad my boy got to spend some time with his sweet friend before we make the move.

God's awesome creation. Boy am I thankful we are not sharing this earth with this guy. I think one of his feet is longer that my entire body. haha

Brought to me by my son!

Inspired by BA!

We found a town house in our new location. We are so excited because as most of you know we have been living in my in-laws garage. WOO HOO for having your own space! I talked to a couple friend of our who goes to our church and asked them if he would make us a table and they offered us a table that they had in storage. I told her that if we got the table we would refinish it and keep it with in other seminary students. Meaning when we are done with it we will leave it with another seminary family. SO on the bottom of the table they wrote the date and "from the __________ to the Stout's" and when we are done we will write "from the Stout's to the _________". We thought it would be a great hand-me-down. So my husband worked so hard to sand it all down and last night we stained it. It looks great! Thank you N and M.S.! I love that we will have a little piece of you at our dinner table every night.

He's the God of this city...

Please pray for the people of Niamey Niger West Africa. We just learned that there has been a major drought. The rainy season has not been good and people are starving. Read what I found on the web:

At this time of year, the Gadabeji Reserve should be a refuge for the nomadic tribes who travel across a moonscape on the edge of the Sahara to graze their cattle. But the grass is meagre after a drought killed off last year's crops. Now the cattle are too weak to stand and too skinny to sell, leaving the poor without any way to buy grain to feed their families.
The UN World Food Programme is warning that some 10 million people face hunger over the next three months before the harvest in September – if it comes.
Thomas Yanga, WFP's regional director for West Africa, said: "People have lost crops, livestock, and the ability to cope on their own, and the levels of malnutrition among women and children have already risen to very high levels."

Oxfam says that eight million people are at risk in Niger, with a further two million in Chad in jeopardy, and that the situation is "going to get extremely bad". Too often in the past, food crises get attention only when there are dead bodies and distended bellies to film. The UN, aid agencies and governments are trying to sound a loud alarm before mass deaths start to occur.

Niamey Niger is where we have been reaching out. As I am reading this I am watching my kids walk away from a plate full of pizza and mandarin oranges with tears in my eyes. O how my heart breaks to think of them roaming the land looking for something to eat. But even more how my heart breaks to think of so many people dying of starvation before they have heard about a Savior that wants to take them to Paradise for eternity. There are so many faces and names that come to my head and I am on my knees begging the Lord to write their name in His book. Please pray for the families that serve the Lord full time in this area. Pray that there would be open doors to share the life saving message that the people of Africa so need.
