Just what the doctor ordered!

WOW! We have had a great weekend. My mom and dad took my kiddos out of town for the weekend. Justin and I went out to eat by ourselves on Friday, then today we did school work all morning long uninterrupted. We had to come up with 50 observations for Acts 1:8, good thing it was uninterrupted! We had a couples message after lunch and then we came home and cooked dinner. After dinner we sat for 4 hours and just talked. Now it is late and I am typing this while he snores. Ha! BUT it has been wonderful. We get the kids back tomorrow and neither of us has to work on Monday for Labor Day. This was much needed rest. The Great Physician knows just what I needed!
Hope yours has been just as sweet!!

This song is so powerful!

When I try to sing this song I can not even get the words out.
The words are so powerful...

In Christ Alone lyrics

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live, I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sins curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

I will stand, I will stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground, all other ground
Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I stand

"Stinded Day"

Ya'll pray for this kid! He has cried everyday at school because he does not want to go to "stinded day." We have had a talk every morning telling him to be a big boy. He is upset because he does not want to take a nap so I assure him he does not have to. His teacher will allow him to sit quietly on the carpet with a toy if he would rather. Yesterday when I passed his teacher in the hall way she stopped me to tell me the saddest story I have ever heard...
My boy was sitting in chapel and he looked over at his teacher and asked if he could go to the bathroom. His teacher said the look on his face made her follow him to make sure he was ok. Then she said he walked to the bathroom and closed the door behind him and all of a sudden she hears weeping. She was going to go in and check on him when he comes through the door with red eyes. As he was wiping his tears away he say, "I'm okay." She asked him if he was sure and he said yes I just don't want to go to 'stinded day. From that point on there were no more tears but he was very sad.
This kid actually excused himself from chapel, went into the stall, had a little cry by himself, sucked it up, and walked back out to finish chapel. I appreciated the obedience to stop the dramatic crying, but it broke my heart to think of him in that stall unable to control his emotions. How sad is that!! Please pray for him to be a big boy. He know I am just down the hall from him and that does not help. My little boy is growing up. :(
